Days 01 : |
Arrival in Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing, you are met and transferred
to the hotel. After your overseas flight, relax
during the remainder of the afternoon and evening. |
Days 02 : |
Beijing
Your first day of touring in our capital city will
begin with strolling across the Tiananmen Square -
the largest and most imposing public square in the
world. Through the Meridian Gate on the north side
of the square, you will enter the fabled Forbidden
City to appreciate its majesty and magnificence. In
the afternoon, you will visit the Temple of Heaven
where the emperor, twice each year, would visit to
thank the Gods for a good harvest and pray for the
new one. To perfect a memorable start to your tour,
you will have Beijing Duck Dinner at the famous
century-old Quan Ju De restaurant followed by a
fascinating Peking Opera performance. |
Days 03 : |
Beijing
It is a once in a life time experience to walk upon
the Badaling Great Wall of China. More than 2,500
years old, this fortification was constructed to
protect China from the savage Northern tribes. After
your historic visit to the Great Wall, you will
visit Dingling, one of the Ming Tombs - the burial
site of the royalty during the Ming Dynasty.
Entrance to this sacred burial ground is via the
Sacred Way, an avenue where large animal statues
stand guard. |
Days 04 : |
Beijing - Datong
This morning you will marvel at the treasures of the
Summer Palace, the largest imperial garden in the
world. In the afternoon, you will have a half day
Rickshaw tour to experience the different aspects of
Beijing city, the society and the daily life of
Beijing residents. (Tour route: Bell Tower (or Drum
Tower) - free market - Shichahai - Yinding Bridge -
Hutong - quadrangles (the resident homes). In the
evening, you will take an overnight soft-sleeper
train to Datong. |
Days 05 : |
Datong
Upon arrival in Datong in the morning, you will be
met and transferred to hotel. Yungang Grottoes, with
its 53 rock caves and 5l,000 statues, is a
treasure-house of ancient Buddhist art, the largest
of its kind in China. You will have all morning to
explore its wonder. The remaining time is for you to
visit two large Buddhist complexes called Shanhua
Monastery and Huayan Temple and a 600-year-old Nine
Dragons Screen. |
Days 06 : |
Datong - Taiyuan
Today, you will travel over 80 kilometers away from
the city to visit the Sakyamuni Wooden Pagoda at
Fogong Temple in Yingxian County. Built in 1056, it
is the tallest ancient wood frame structure in
China. Upon coming back to Datong, you will be
transferred to the railway station for your
overnight train to Taiyuan. |
Days 07 : |
Taiyuan
Upon your early morning arrival in Taiyuan, you will
be met and transferred to the hotel. The morning is
reserved for your leisure. In the afternoon, you
will visit the Double Pagoda Temple and the ancient
Chongshan Temple, an active place of worship that
has numerous sutras and some well maintained halls. |
Days 08 : |
Taiyuan - Pingyao
After breakfast take car to an ancient city -
Pingyao. Check in at the hotel upon arrival. You
will visit the Qiao Family's compound filled with
Chinese traditional lanterns and the Shuanglin
Monastery famous for its vivid earth sculptures. The
remaining time is for you to visit the ancient City
Wall and get involved in people's daily life while
wandering along the lively Ming-Qing Street. |
Days 09 : |
Pingyao - Taiyuan - Xi'an
Today you will see the ancient Ri Sheng Chang
Financial House and the Tongxinggong - one of the
most famous bureaus in Pingyao. You will then enjoy
a stroll around the Courtyard Residence. After
sightseeing, return to Taiyuan by car and take an
overnight soft sleeper train to Xi'an. |
Days 10 : |
Xi'an
Upon your morning arrival in Xi'an, you will be met
and transferred to the hotel for a rest, and then be
accompanied to visit the ancient well-preserved City
Wall and the Forest of Stone Steles Museum, a
treasure house which holds a large collection of the
earliest stone steles of different periods, from the
Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty. |
Days 11 : |
Xi'an
Today's highlight is a visit to the Terracotta
Warriors Museum. The museum is home to an entire
army of life-sized clay soldiers buried centuries
ago to guard the underground tomb of China's first
emperor - Qin Shihuang. Then back to the city where
you will visit the Provincial History Museum and the
Big Wild Goose Pagoda. Tonight you will feast at a
special Chinese Dumpling Dinner Banquet. |
Days 12 : |
Xi'an - Chengdu
Today before you are transferred to the airport for
your flight to Chengdu, you will be driven to a
thriving Muslim Quarter to see the Great Mosque. |
Days 13 : |
Chengdu
After breakfast at hotel, you will be driven 56
kilometers west of Chengdu to visit the Dujiangyan
Irrigation System - a miracle of ancient Chinese
ingenuity. After lunch, you will visit the Temple of
Marquis Wu, which consists of a restored Tang
dynasty temple, dedicated to the Shu Dynasty's prime
minister and war strategist Zhu Ge Liang. The panda,
one of China's most famous symbols, can be seen at
the Giant Panda Research Institute. |
Days 14 : |
Chengdu - Leshan
Drive to Leshan County which is famous for having
the largest Buddha Sculpture in China. You will then
take a boat trip along the river to see the Giant
Buddha upon the Leshan Mountain, made to resemble a
sleeping Buddha. |
Days 15 : |
Leshan - Chengdu - Guilin
Return to Chengdu by car and take flight to Guilin.
Check in at the hotel upon arrival in this romantic
and beautiful city. You will then visit the
brilliant illuminated Reed Flute Cave, the Elephant
Trunk Hill and the Fubo Hill, each of which commands
a breathtaking view. |
Days 16 : |
Guilin - Yangshuo
Depart your hotel in the morning. Upon arrival at
the Zhujiang Dock, board your ship and start
cruising on the picturesque and resplendent Li
River. Lunch will be served on board. Then disembark
your ship when arriving in Yangshuo - an ancient
town famous for peaceful rural scenery. |
Days 17 : |
Guiln - Kunming
Back to Guilin by car and take flight to Kunming.
Check in at the hotel upon arrival. The remaining
time is reserved for your leisure. |
Days 18 : |
Kunming
Today's sightseeing is an excursion to the Stone
Forest and the Golden Temple. The Stone Forest is a
Karst landform of stone pillars that rise hundreds
of feet into the sky. It looks like a dense forest
as its name implies. |
Days 19 : |
Kunming - Lijiang
Take a morning flight to Lijiang. Check in at the
hotel upon arrival. You will then visit the Black
Dragon Pool and the Mural in Baisha Village - a
national historical relic. In the evening, visit a
local |
